Justin Dexter MD
Ophthalmologist
Justin Dexter is originally from Oswego, NY. He attended college at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts where he earned his degree in Biochemistry. He then earned his M.D. from SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he also completed his internship in Internal Medicine. Dr. Dexter then completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Nassau University Medical Center and SUNY Stony Brook University, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Dexter has been serving the Syracuse area since 2011 and is board certified by the American Academy of ophthalmology. He is an associate professor at SUNY Upstate Medical Center.

Samantha Heater OD
Optometrist
Dr. Heater has been a part of Eye Surgeons since 2017. She is originally from Syracuse and returned to the area after graduating in 2015 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Heater received her undergraduate degree in biology from SUNY Oneonta. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and is vice president of the Central New York local chapter.

Tara Brackley OD
Optometrist
Dr. Brackley joined the Eye Surgeons family in 2021 after working in the greater Syracuse area since graduating in 2014. She earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and completed her optometric training at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Mass. Dr. Brackley specializes in ocular disease and management.

Barry Rabin MD
Ophthalmologist
Dr. Rabin joined Eye Surgeons in 2021 after closing his own private practice. He has been providing medical eye care to the North Syracuse community for over 30 years.

Lawrence Stewart MD
Ophthalmologist | Emmeritus Physician
After 35 years with Eye Surgeons of CNY, Dr. Stewart retired in 2022. He enjoys hiking with his wife and family, golfing, wildlife photography and the pursuit of happiness.
