What to Expect

Valeda treatments are done in-office. 

❋ Photobiomodulation (PBM)

Specific wavelengths of light are used to stimulate retinal cellular health

photosensitivity to light; light activated epilepsy, migraine or seizure; after use of photosensitizing agents, or WET macular degeneration.

Valeda treatments are administered multiple times over the course of two years. Each individual treatment lasts about 4 minutes per eye.

How It Works

  • We are the first office in the Central New York area to offer this innovative treatment option!

    Some insurances do cover Valeda treatments.

  • We will book most of your treatments at one time. Treatments are delivered in a series of 9 sessions per eye over 3 – 5 weeks. A full treatment is 6 courses of 9 sessions spread out over 2 years

  • Valeda DOES NOT cure or prevent macular degeneration. Visual and or structural improvements may take months to occur.

    please review all literature/information on Valeda before beginning treatments

  • It is important to continue regular vision checks and macular degeneration follow ups with your eye care provider. “routine eye exams” are not conducted on Valeda treatment days.

  • For best results with Valeda, it is crucial to follow the treatment protocol as closely as possible. That will involve many office visits. Transportation is a vital part of this.
